Starting last week, Circle of Hope has been providing free telemental health services for healthcare workers who are at the frontlines of dealing with this extraordinarily challenging health crisis. We’ve had some grateful callers who inspire us so much to continue. Due to requests and the availability of more volunteers, we are offering these free telemental health services for a wider sector. In addition to our healthcare workers, we will also be serving other frontliners, i.e. LGU crisis responders, baranggay healthcare workers, media/field reporters, and police/military personnel. These services will also be open for PUI’s/PMI’s and family members of COVID-19 patients who are experiencing much distress over the health of their loved ones. English and Tagalog services are available.
Compassion is medicine. This was part of the WHO Director-General’s latest bulletin (3/20/20). These times are truly painful and difficult. But it can also be a time of “great turning,” if we, as one human family open our hearts with compassion to ourselves and each other. Let each of us be light in these dark times and may our collective light blaze in the dark. -Joanna Herrera, Executive Director, Circle of Hope Community Services, Inc.
